Our switchboard is manned between the hours of 8.00am and 6.30pm, Monday to Friday (excluding Bank Holidays). This is the number to call if you wish to speak to a doctor or nurse for medical advice, to request a home visit or to make a general enquiry. Please note that our telephone switchboard manages a large number of calls, especially during morning surgery. For non-urgent matters it would therefore be helpful if you could telephone between 2.30 and 6.00pm.

Please contact the surgery as soon as possible if you are unable to keep you appointment, in order that it may be offered to another patient. We now have a dedicated number for patients to text their appointment cancellations: 07814 442290.
The doctors are occasionally called out of surgery to attend emergencies. When this happens, our reception staff will inform the waiting patients and give an indication of the likely delay. It may be necessary to see another doctor or book a new appointment.
Out Of Hours: 03000 33 33 33
During the week, out of hours refers to the period of time between 6.30pm at night and 8.00am the following morning. Weekends and public holidays are also out of hours. At these times, the Primary Care Trust has arranged for out-of-hours medical cover to be provided by a GP co-operative called Herts Urgent Care (HUC). HUC can be contacted directly on the telephone number given above. Alternatively, when the Surgery is closed, you can telephone our switchboard and your call will be transferred directly to the out-of-hours provider. The HUC receptionist will take some basic details and pass this information to a doctor or nurse who will phone back with advice or, if necessary, arrange for you to see a doctor at the emergency centre or receive a home visit.

This surgery benefits from a dedicated physiotherapy suite to which patients are referred by their GP from across the locality.

Our aim is to provide a high standard of service at Bennetts End Surgery. Comments on any aspect of the Practice will be received with interest and these can be passed on to our trained staff or the Managing Partner who is happy to discuss your comments with you. We try to deal swiftly and sympathetically with any difficulties you may experience. The doctors would wish to know of any reason for dissatisfaction or praise. There is an in-house complaints procedure, compliant with NHS regulations, and our Head of Reception will be pleased to help you if you wish to make a suggestion or complaint.
